“I hope you’re happy, Brian,” Alicia Forkes whispered under her breath, eyeing the crowded nightclub.
What an enjoyable read! From the minute I picked up The Prince’s Bride I wasn’t able to stop reading!
When Alicia comes face to face with Prince Leo, he knows exactly who she is. However, she doesn’t recognize him. I don’t blame her, since he was in disguise! After their steaming night together and old laws Leo has to make Alicia stay with him. Which turns out to be just as difficult as Leo thinks it’ll be. We learn that Leo and Alicia originally met as teenagers back in New York City, they promised to write letters to each other and at around the 40% mark I had a very good idea as to what happened to those letters.
The tension between these two continues to build throughout the story, and there comes a point that Alicia can no longer deny the attraction. While I enjoyed watching the tension and chemistry build, I enjoyed learning more about both Leo and Alicia. Leo is a Prince who is soon to be King and Alicia is a regular girl from the US who believes Leo must marry a Prince. As the miscommunication about the past comes to light other issue arise causing pain to both Leo and Alicia. However, they got they’re blissful happily ever after.
The Prince’s Bride was a modern day retelling of Cinderella. It was such an enjoyable read that I can’t wait to pick up other books in this series!
