The Anatomy of Jane is more than just an erotica read! It has a great storyline, forbidden love, characters with depth, a messed up family, and a touch of realistic fiction with the lack of understanding/acceptance.

Well, my M/M cherry has been popped. I haven’t read a lot of GLBT books other than for The Perks of Being A Wallflower. I know, I know, there’s so many good ones I need to read, I’m working on it! And I definitely have never read any M/M books and especially not to this…extent/degree. The whole reason why I signed up for the blog tour is because I wanted to expand my genres. And let me just say, The Anatomy of Jane did  NOT disappoint!

Jane. Poor girl, literally. Her life hasn’t been easy. She’s worked for very hard and it seems like she can never catch a break.

Max. I wanted to hate him from the moment he’s introduced, but I didn’t. Surprise, surprise. You go into The Anatomy of Jane knowing that he’s relationship with Wesley is a secret. And going into The Anatomy of Jane knowing this made me more understanding to his “cold” personality. I felt sorry for him, I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to want someone or be with someone and have to keep it a secret.

Wesley. This boy made me drool. And no, it’s not just because he’s a chef. He’s filled with so much passion that is well portrayed in the way he speaks, acts, and looks at Jane and Max.

While The Anatomy of Jane isn’t really meant to be a realistic fiction, I couldn’t help but kind of see it that way. I mean are there people out there that have a secret 3-way relationship? Probably! Are there a lot of them? Probably not. But I feel like there are A LOT of people out there hiding their sexuality. While times have changed and the world is more accepting, some families are not. The struggle that Max faces with accepting who he is and who he loves is so realistic that my heart went out to him. His family is a nightmare and every time they were mentioned I wanted to kick them.

THE. DAMN. ENDING. Now, I knew this was a series. I really did, but did I expect that kind of cliffhanger at the end? Hell no! Omg. I was furious, but happy know there would be more. But still furious! I don’t have an iPad or tablet to read this on so I sat there on my iPhone 6 reading this and when I got to the end I kept swiping at my phone desperate for another chapter.

Thank god book #2 comes out in December! I would lose it if I had to wait until 2017! Unit then, I’ll just keep rereading The Anatomy of Jane (I’m already on my 3rd reread), but I’m not surprised since I’ve also been rereading The Thing Between Eli & Gwen (ICYMI – Review). Since you know, Amelia LeFay and J.J. McCovy is the same person!!! Mind blown.
